Frequently Asked Questions About Adult Therapy

How do I know when it is time to start therapy?
If your emotions, past experiences or relationships are interfering with daily life or creating barriers to living a fulfilling life, it is likely time to engage some therapeutic support. If you are questioning whether it is time to start therapy, feel free to give our team a call and request a free consultation. We are happy to meet with you to share about what therapy would look like for you so you can make an informed decision.

How do I choose the right therapist?

Finding the right therapist is one of the most important parts of the therapy process. Our care coordination team takes time to learn about your goals, preferences, and concerns before matching you with a therapist whose personality, approach, and areas of expertise are a good fit for your needs. You also have the opportunity to meet with multiple therapists for an initial consultation to get a better feel for each person's approach.

What therapy approaches do your therapists use?
Our clinicians use a variety of evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, IFS, somatic therapy, art therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness-based interventions, and attachment-focused therapy. Your therapist will tailor treatment to your unique experiences and goals.

How long does therapy usually last?
The length of therapy varies for every person. Some clients meet for a few months to work through a specific concern, while others choose longer-term therapy for ongoing personal growth and support. Together with your therapist, you can create a timeline that works for you.

Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. We provide both in-person counseling in Arvada and secure telehealth appointments for adults throughout Colorado, making it easier to access care wherever you are.

Do you accept insurance?
Yes. Benediction Counseling accepts most commercial insurance plans and Medicaid. We also offer reduced-fee services through our Sliding Fee Discount Program to help make therapy more financially accessible.
