Andrea Buckett (she/her), Student Therapist
|
Andrea is a student therapist pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University. Before entering the counseling field, she earned a degree in interior design and spent much of her adult life raising a family. Her own experiences with divorce, remarriage, and raising a blended family eventually shaped her interest in counseling and in the complex ways relationships, family roles, and major life transitions affect us.
Andrea is especially interested in working with adults navigating divorce, blended family dynamics, relationship challenges, and significant life changes. She understands that these experiences rarely affect just one part of a person’s life and enjoys helping clients look at the larger patterns and relationships that may be contributing to where they feel stuck. Her approach to counseling is collaborative, practical, and grounded in the belief that we cannot always change the people or circumstances around us, but we can develop more choice in how we respond to them. Her work is influenced by family systems, attachment theory, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with an emphasis on acceptance, self-awareness, and skills clients can use outside of the therapy room. |
Andrea accepts private pay ($50/session), Cigna/Evernorth, Aetna/First Health, Kaiser, CO Access, CCHA and RMHP Medicaid Insurances.
