Jessamyn Shanks (she/her), MA, LPCC, ATR-P
|
Jessamyn is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) and Registered Art Therapist–Provisional (ATR-P). She holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, where she developed an integrative approach that combines evidence-based counseling with the healing potential of art therapy. She brings a person-centered, collaborative approach to therapy, creating a safe and inclusive environment where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered.
As an art therapist, Jessamyn integrates creative expression with traditional talk therapy to support emotional awareness, self-understanding, and new perspectives. She believes that art can provide a unique avenue for exploration, especially when words are difficult to find. Whether clients choose to create art or engage in conversation, she tailors each session to their individual needs, strengths, and goals. Jessamyn enjoys working with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, identity exploration, and burnout. Outside of the therapy room, Jessamyn has training in herbalism and finds restoration in nature. She enjoys spending time outdoors, relaxing at home with her cat, Clementine, and searching for hidden treasures at local thrift stores. These interests reflect her appreciation for creativity, connection, and the small moments that help us feel grounded. |
Jessamyn accepts private pay ($125/session), Cigna/Evernorth, Aetna/First Health, Kaiser, CO Access, CCHA and RMHP Medicaid Insurances.
