Sam Carson (he/him), Student Therapist
|
Sam is a student therapist pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Naropa University, with a concentration in mindfulness-based transpersonal counseling. He earned his undergraduate degree in business from Drew University in New Jersey and, after navigating a series of health challenges in the years that followed, became deeply interested in the mind–body connection. These experiences ultimately inspired a career shift toward counseling and supporting others in their healing, growth, and change.
Sam’s work is grounded in mindfulness, which he understands as the practice of paying attention to present-moment experience with curiosity and compassion. He integrates mindfulness practices, such as meditation, alongside other therapeutic approaches to help clients explore their inner world, identify patterns shaped by past experiences, and create space for greater choice and meaning moving forward. His approach is gentle yet steady, honoring each client’s pace while supporting growth and change over time. Sam is especially interested in trauma-informed work and understanding how the nervous system shapes thoughts, emotions, and behavior. Outside of therapy, he enjoys dancing to live music, spending time in nature, and staying active, often trekking through the woods to find his golf ball. |
Sam accepts private pay ($50/session), Cigna/Evernorth, Aetna/First Health, Kaiser, CO Access, CCHA and RMHP Medicaid Insurances.
