DBT Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT ) focuses on teaching practical tools to help individuals manage emotions, navigate relationships, and handle life's challenges more effectively. It is structured around four key modules:
  • mindfulness (staying present and aware),
  • distress tolerance (coping with crises without making them worse),
  • emotion regulation (understanding and managing intense emotions), and
  • interpersonal effectiveness (building and maintaining healthy relationships).
Skills training is often delivered in a group setting, providing a supportive environment for practice and learning. DBT Skills can also be taught in individual therapy. This therapy empowers individuals to replace harmful behaviors with healthier, more constructive ways of responding to life's demands. Since DBT was originally developed, these skills have been found to be effective for people in many different situations. They have been proven to help with anxiety, depression, relationship distress, traumatic experiences, and so much more. Really, they are great life skills for all of us!

DBT addresses common problems that keep people stuck in difficult and damaging patterns:
  • Troubling relationship cycles
  • Overwhelming powerful emotions
  • Affected by trauma triggers
  • Consistently feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, frustrated or hopeless
  • Struggling with thoughts of suicide or self-harm

Several of our therapists are able to offer DBT in an individual setting. CLICK HERE for DBT group offerings!
