DBT Therapy
We offer Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients learn to be mindful, aware and sensitive to others so that they can genuinely connect with themselves and others. DBT was originally developed to help individuals who are diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. Borderline characteristics cause individuals to be anxious or fearful in relationships, sometimes emotionally reactive, and often struggling to feel grounded or centered. Since DBT was originally developed, these skills have been found to be effective for people in many different situations. They have been proven to help with anxiety, depression, relationship distress, traumatic experiences, and so much more. Really, they are great life skills for all of us! The core DBT skills include mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness and distress tolerance skills.
