Tess Wiegand (she/her), MA, LPCC, NCC

Picture
Tess Wiegand is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate and National Certified Counselor. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Legal Studies from Illinois State University (2013). She worked in immigration and federal law before earning her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary (2021).

Tess works with adults and couples. She is passionate about creating a safe environment for clients to wrestle with the tension that can come from holding two seemingly oppositional desires: to honestly consider the past while also yearning for a future of healing, growth, and peace. She also loves supporting caregivers of various kinds as they seek to steward their own
wellness.

When she’s not in the therapy chair, Tess enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids, Chinese takeout, and stores full of old books and old clothes. Tess also enjoys running, and feels confident she could outrun a bear – if they both agreed to run slowly for a very long time.
Tess’s Areas of Specialty:
  • Maternal mental health
  • Marital/premarital
  • Caregiver wellness
  • Attachment disruptions
  • Life transitions
  • Emotionally healthy Christianity
Tess’s Training or Modalities:
  • Attachment Theory
  • Emotion Focused Therapy
  • Polyvagal Theory
  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy
Tess’s therapeutic style has been described as gentle, knowledgeable, steadying, and genuine.
