Alyssa Lopez, Student Therapist
After graduating from Colorado Christian University in 2020, Alyssa was hired at the Denver Children’s Home (DCH), where she worked as a Youth Treatment Counselor. During her time there, she gained experience supporting diverse young clientele with a variety of mental health struggles, specifically severe depression, anxiety, and chemical dependency. She gained insight into these populations and learned creative ways to work with the youth who are struggling in this community.
Alyssa's next professional experience came from a clinic for children who are on the autism spectrum. During her time there, she gained more experience working with neurodivergent children and assisting them in building skills. Alyssa has both personal and professional experience supporting individuals with disabilities and those who care for them. She has a special interest in supporting those in caregiving roles.
Alyssa's most recent professional experience has been supporting those affected by Chemical Dependency at West Pines Behavioral Health, where she works on a team supporting individuals participating in a residential program. She plays an integral role on a team of nurses, psychiatrists, and other counselors. She has come to love supporting this population and appreciates the science of addiction a she works to bring restoration and hope.
Alyssa is a creative therapist who loves to explore ways to work through client’s stressors by building resilience. She leans heavily on a CBT approach to achieve wellness. She enjoys supporting diverse clientele and is always open to learning differing perspectives.
Alyssa accepts private pay ($50/session), Cigna/Evernorth, Aetna, Kaiser, CO Access, CCHA and RMHP Medicaid Insurances.
