Commitment to Inclusion

As a group, we are committed to the improvement of mental health for all people. We take seriously how mental health stigma and disparities negatively affect marginalized groups and communities. We seek to be a welcoming, informed and culturally sensitive practice, and do this through doing the work of:
  • De-centering white/cis/straight experiences,
  • Practicing anti-racism,
  • Affirming LGBTQ+ people and relationships, and
  • Decolonizing how we think about supporting diverse groups of people.

If you are a member of a marginalized group, we are committed to you and your experience so our office doesn't create more emotional labor for you. We want you to be able to come here and experience the therapeutic safety that allows you to lay down your burdens, honestly share about your life and begin to heal. Thank you for entrusting us with these important parts of your self!

If you would prefer to be connected with a therapist of color, we love to champion the work of POC therapists! Click here for access to a directory of therapists of color:

Similarly, we believe that transracial adoptees (individuals adopted into a family of a different race than theirs) benefit from working with therapists who understand their unique experience. Click here for access to a directory of therapists who are themselves transracial adoptees. You'll need to make sure to select a therapist who is licensed in the state in which you live.
