COMMITMENT TO INCLUSION
As a group, we are committed to the improvement of mental health for all people. We take seriously how mental health stigma and disparities within underrepresented groups negatively affects whole communities. We seek to be a welcoming, informed and culturally sensitive practice, and do this through doing the work of de-centering white practices, practicing anti-racism, decolonizing how we think about supporting diverse groups of people, and challenging each other to do this ongoing work. If you are a member of an underrepresented group, we don't want our office to create more emotional labor for you. We want you to be able to come here and experience the therapeutic safety that allows you to lay down your burdens, be honest about the trauma you have accumulated and begin to heal. If you would prefer to be connected with a therapist of color or a therapist in the LGBTQ+ community, we would love to help you connect there as well. Thank you for entrusting us with these vulnerable parts of your journey!
